Rabbits – Getting an Idea of Something. Thinking Things through to the End
“Rabbits – Getting an Idea of Something. Thinking Things through to the End” is about places that most of us only know through the media. Located far from the cities, in the sparsely populated regions of the country, the production sites of the world’s largest industry are, in many ways, no-go areas.
Two rabbits, however, have set out on a journey and share their experiences – from a bike tour through the Oldenburg region along a “Factory Farm Route” published by ATTAC, from the fear of the animals in the barns as well as the fear of the farmer, who lurks with a shotgun, from the pressure of conformity, and from the fear of being against it in a society that considers this madness normal.
In the dialogues, we, as artists, do not speak on behalf of the rabbits, but through them – we are the rabbits, who, through this detour, become the subjects of the narrative. Continuously questioning their own role and the possibilities of art, they nevertheless know very well what needs to be done.
